Abstract:
Guaranteeing deterministic memory protection and zero-copy shared memory performance across multi-core automotive compute platforms.
1. Memory Faults in High-Density LPDDR5X RAM High-capacity memory arrays (up to 64 GB LPDDR5X) are susceptible to cosmic ray bit-flips. Automotive HPCs implement end-to-end Error-Correcting Code (ECC) with Single-Error Correction and Double-Error Detection (SECDED) across all internal caches and external memory buses.
2. Zero-Copy Shared Memory Performance Passing high-bandwidth 4K video frames between hypervisor virtual machines cannot afford memory copy operations. By implementing hardware-assisted zero-copy shared memory buffers, IPC latency was reduced from 2.4 milliseconds to under 38 microseconds, enabling real-time sensor fusion.
